Position Vacant – Manager – Western Australia Operations

Maxitool Mining is based in North Queensland and is a division of the Maxitool Group which was founded in 2007 to provide quality products and services to the mining and energy industries throughout Australia and abroad. Our reputation has been built on the successful delivery of projects that require mobilisation of skilled workforces and specialty plant to remote and often challenging locations.

Maxitool Mining provides diverse specialist services including mechanical maintenance, large scale scheduled outages, mill relines, fabrication and projects.

 

The Position:

Maxitool Mining is seeking an experienced and dynamic WA Manager to lead and develop our growing operations across Western Australia. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for someone passionate about building high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and making a lasting impact in the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Operations: Lead the development and further growth of Maxitool Mining’s WA operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Safety & Culture: Cultivate a safety-first culture by modelling positive, honest behaviours and ensuring safe work practices are always followed.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify operational inefficiencies and risks, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered successfully and within client expectations.
  • Business Development: Identify and actively pursue new business opportunities and clients, contributing to the expansion and growth of Maxitool Mining in WA.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute strategies, policies, and plans that meet client and legislative requirements.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring targets are met.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide accurate and timely management reports, ensuring open and effective communication across all levels of the organisation.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in senior management roles within the mining industry, ideally with a focus on operations and team leadership.
  • A proven track record in building and growing regional operations, with an eye for innovation, efficiency, and long-term success.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop emerging leaders within the team.
  • Previous experience managing a Fixed Plant Maintenance services business
  • Previous experience in supervising or managing Mining shutdowns/outages
  • A strong commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and ensuring financial targets are achieved.
  • Ability to drive change, pursue new business, and build relationships that support growth.
